Hello!
I’m Lucy and I set up this company to help people everywhere to trace their family history. Most of us have thought about it at one time or another and wondered from where we really came – is there anyone famous in my ancestry? Am I related to royalty? Or even have I got any criminals in my background?? Until you start your research, you really don’t know to where it may lead and what you may find……and that is so exciting! I’ve spent over thirty years tracing my family history and can’t wait to share the things I’ve learned with whoever is listening.
I am a History graduate and am currently studying for a Masters with the University of Strathclyde in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic studies which is adding to the knowledge I have already gleaned from all the many record offices and genealogical websites I have used.
My personal research has taken me all over this country visiting record offices and pouring over old documents, visiting houses in which my ancestors lived or places from where they came. But my research has also been undertaken in Norway, Denmark and Wales. This has been fun bearing in mind I speak no Norwegian or Danish! But it has added to my knowledge of how different countries keep records of their own and how they compare to ours.
So I am well place to be able to help you take the first steps in tracing your family history with the personal research I offer. In addition, I have available online my e-book Family History for Dummies. This really is a starter book, giving you all the basics.
Finally, I have on this website a forum for you to ask questions to develop a community of people who might be able to help or have answers to questions you have about research maybe in a particular area or country. I will also be posting on the forum and helping out wherever I can if I have the answers. But all of that is free for the to join. All you need to do is sign up and you can then post or just come on and see what other people have posted and the replies they have received.
With all of that on offer, It should give you the very best chance to get involved in what must be the most fascinating interest around!
